WHAT"S IN A NAME(S)?
* Donna Marie Pritchard is my given name and is how I am known in the communities where I lived up until 2005, primarily Kingston, TN and Friday Harbor, WA.
** Donna P. Savage is my penname and the name I have used since 2005.
I wanted a penname that would be easy to pronounce, spell, remember and that has meaning to me. William "Savage" Ragland was my grandfather.
*** CanZada was my grandmother's name and a name I have always loved.
It is a rare name and when I began belly dancing, I chose it as a dance name. CanZada is also the name of a character in many of my yet-to-be published stories---the character has mystical powers and can see into other realms. When I paint, it feels similar to when I dance with veils---the colors swirl around me, and it seems that time stops---so it seemed natural to paint under my dance name.
