INSPIRATION FOR GRAFITTI
SERIES
I am a poet.
I have always been fascinated with grafitti from the street version to the sophisticated.
Much of my poetry has to do with the awakening of the heart and consciousness to the miracles that exist in simple things---from the idea of "Almost Free"--a popular phrase to tourists in Mexico to higher guidance to "create space within" so a person can become aware of their inner guiding voice.
I use excerpts from my poems in the graffiti series, often layering the words over the canvas before painting over them. When poems are the primary inspiration, I include the poem along with the canvas.
